Founder
Mark is the founder of Maverick Planet - a facilitated change consultancy that helps clients find business, brand and marketing solutions for the dynamic digital, social and commercial world they inhabit. Clients include: Google, The Economist, BSkyB, Ebay, Cadbury, Bupa, Samsung, Vodafone, English Cricket, Dixons, Dennis Publishing, the governments of Denmark and Nigeria and Noel Edmonds. Mark was originally a mathematics and physics student. He became a professionally qualified market researcher and marketer. Research and facilitated workshops remain a key aspect of Mark’s skillset and he has carried out research among over 50,000 respondents in 26 countries in the last 3 years. Prior to setting up Maverick Planet, Mark was Executive Head of Strategy at some of the UK’s most highly regarded creative and strategic agencies: WCRS, BMP & OMD. As a planner he won both the IPA and Media Week Awards Grand Prix. He was regularly nominated in Campaign’s top 10 media thinkers and named as the planner in Campaign Magazine’s ‘Fantasy Agency for the Century’. Mark co-owns the social-media insight platform start up Social Junction, is on the management board of digital design and production company INVDP and advised a small number of mobile tech start-ups and venture capital businesses. He is part of the Launchpad start up programme at London Business School, guest lectures on change at Henley School of Management, University College London and the School of Communication Arts.
