I was fortunate enough to fall into a startup fairly early in my career. As a result, hard work, tenacity, leading by example and strategic mindsets have been ingrained into my personality. I’ve managed to screw up plenty, work hard and lose deals, suffer bad luck and external factors such as geo-politicals. So its NOT always about the winning, but how we meet unexpected challenges head-on and roll with the punches! I fear complacency and am constantly building, investing and ensuring momentum. A business is dependent on a solid plan and an aligned culture. Both of these elements change and as business leaders we are responsible for being sensitive to this and having the foresight or the awareness to make hard decisions at the right time. As well as ActiveWin I have a portfolio of companies where I manage on a daily basis or contribute as a director. Adzooma recently raised several £M on a £50M Valuation and has grown from 15 - 80 people within the last year. It’s a SaaS business heavily based on technology. Adzooma has quickly become a Google top 10 Channel sales partner in the UK with over 100M impressions served. I use this as an example to qualify some of the humbling and challenging experiences I have had to date. I hope that the AgencyNXD platform will enable me to meet like-minded people who want to tap into my experience in order to help them grow and perhaps avoid mistakes I have made. I look forward to advising different business of all sizes and scale.
